How to Submit an Ad for Ezine Publication
Copyright by Bruce McCullough
As an online newsletter publisher I am frequently receiving ad submissions for publication. Many of these ads have to be re-formated to fit in the ad space provided. Without doing this, the ads would appear as broken which causes many readers to ignore the ad and the editor to receive comments from the readers. The extra work for the editor could result in your ad not being published (in the case of FREE ads) or coming out looking like the following.

THIS EXACT SAME AD can make you $xxx cash daily! You can set up today...and LITERALLY be getting paid tomorrow! To learn how ...send a blank email to- mailto:yourname@autoresponder.com

Which one would you choose for your ad?
To make your ad look the way you want it to you have to format it. In some cases, contacting the editor of the newsletter to find out how they require formatting would be your best bet. However, I have found the using 60 characters per line is a very safe setting.
Most editors require formating of 60-65 characters per line. So you can see how 60 would be totally adequate to keep the broken lines from occuring.
Making your lines 60-65 characters per line is very easy to do. You simple make yourself a ruler. This is done by typing out a line of digits the desired length like this...
123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890
This line measures 60 characters and you can prove it to yourself by counting the "0's". You can make it longer or shorter as needed to the particular publication.
The only remaining requirement is to use the enter key at the end of each line. This is called a hard carriage return. This will assure the formating stays in tact no matter where you submit your ad.
Using these techniques will assure that you are submitting uniform ads that are professional in appearance. The only other thing you need now is to develop "killer content" for your ad and then test, test and then test some more.
