Use Ezine Articles to Open Doors
Copyright by Patrick Tan

I am now one of those few marketers who rely heavily on writing and publishing ezine articles to drive traffic to my website. In the past, I used to submit my site diligently to search engines, directories, FFA links, classified ads and opt-in mailing lists on a regular basis. While I did succeed in bringing in an average monthly traffic of 4,000 page views, the results were not commensurate with the time and efforts that I put in.

It all started when search engine Jayde.com reprinted my article, "Creating a powerful press release" in its WebProNews newsletter in late February.

In the following two days, I received close to 50 new subscriptions for my newsletter and several requests to reprint my article in various websites and publications such as writebusiness, Wireless Radio Network and Money Maker's Monthly. Traffic to my site also jumped to over 900 page views a day on those two days.

You can receive a copy of the articles from my autoresponders:

This success prompted me to take a closer look at the merits of publishing my articles in related newsletters. I began to submit my articles to websites that provide free ezine articles to publishers.

I also list my newsletter at the following free directories:

http://www.infojump.com

In addition, I set up autoresponders for all my articles featured in Back to Basics Archives and Ezine Articles. If a reader comes across an article he likes, he can request for the article to be emailed to him automatically with a simple click on the "download" button.

SendFree, the net's first ad exchange for autoresponders, provides these autoresponders free of charge. In return, it will place an ad at the bottom of my auto-responses.

However, it will run my ad on another autoresponder every time I send out two auto-responses in a 1-for-2 exchange. This is a good way to increase traffic with unlimited free email advertising. I can control my target audience by selecting the appropriate subject category and autoresponder content to go with my ad.

The results have been overwhelming so far. I have received close to 500 requests for my articles from visitors to Ezine Articles and Back to Basics. Most of them are webmasters and ezine editors.

Traffic to my site has since doubled to more than 8,000 page views a month, and look set to double again this month as I embark on a program to submit my articles to the editors of ezines and newsletters directly.

Why are ezine articles so effective in driving traffic to website? I believe the key lies in the value of the free information that we provide in our articles.

A well-written article reaching out to the right audience can play a very important role in instilling confidence in your expertise and arousing awareness and interest in specific needs, products or services. These highly qualified prospects will then be more receptive to visit your site for more information.

If you are looking for a time-effective technique to promote your site, this is it! A good article published in appropriate newsletter does open doors and drive traffic to your site. Don't despair if you are a novice writer.
